Resolved Changing the powersteering belt

Is there a write up on how to do this? It looks like alot of work for what should be a simple task. Let me know.

It's pretty easy. You have to turn the engine over to line up the holes in the pulley with the 2 bolts that hold the right side of the pulley down to the bracket. Then loosen the bolt on the left side bottom of the power steering pump.

You might have to remove the 2 bolts that hold the reservoir in place so you can move it around to get a socket in there.

You should now be able to pivot the power steering pump. Shove it as far back as you can to release tension on the belt and take off the belt. There's a chance that a bracket is in place on the right side that goes to the motor mount. If so, just remove the 2 bolts that holds that in place. That should be it.

To tension it again, I usually just jam a bar between the bracket and pump to put the right tension on the belt and then tighten one of the bolts while holding the bar.

I have a 2g so it works differently. But just a suggestion, get a Haynes or Chiltons manual. It gives your step by step instructions and pictures.

To turn the engine over just use a 1/2" drive ratchet in the center of the crankshaft pulley. It's a super easy job.
